Exactly 100 words. Told you I could do it.
Date: 2009-02-28 01:01 am (UTC)"It's gotten longer." Fingers threaded through the blond strands, tugging lightly at the lock that fell in front of Link's left ear.
"Yours is still as short as ever." Blue eyes lazily blinked open, and the Hylian reached up, one hand knocking the circlet off while the other smoothed the soft blue strands back into place.
"I like it." The prince leaned down for a kiss as soft as his smile. "I'm glad you're here."
"Me too, Marth. Me too."
100 words is harder than it sounds.
Date: 2009-02-28 04:04 am (UTC)"It's really not too long though?" He put the circlet aside, hand joining Marth's in combing through his hair. It was still a little damp; weighed down by the water, it did show an increase in length.
Marth reached for the circlet, combing Link's fringe to frame his face and placing the gold ornament on the Hylian's head. "Not too long at all."
Link half sat up, half dragged Marth down to sprawl on the rug next to him. "Grow yours out a little."
"Maybe."
This is now a drabble post.
Date: 2009-02-28 05:27 am (UTC)Marth threw his head back and laughed, reaching for Link's hand and twining their fingers together. "You do plenty of playing already, and you do so whether I wish it or not." There was no malice in the statement, but rather a fondness that was echoed in the prince's expression.
"So? It's not like you ever complain." Link leaned in for a kiss, an impish look in his eyes.
"Would you stop even if I did?"
"Have I ever done anything you needed to complain about?"
"No."
"Then I won't stop."
I hate you.
Date: 2009-03-01 04:47 am (UTC)"Has there ever been a good time for this?" The Hylian was only too happy to follow the tug, slipping a leg in between Marth's as they tumbled onto the rug.
Marth sighed. "No. We're not likely to have more than these few brief moments, when we can take them."
"Then let's make good use of them." Another kiss, deeper than the last. "I need you."
No you don't. And this one was hard to get down to just 100 words.
Date: 2009-03-01 08:44 pm (UTC)Roy. He sighed, resting his head against Marth's shoulder. "Have you been able to see anything at all?"
Marth shook his head, his own sigh escaping his lips. "Just glimpses, and cloudy at that. You can I see clearly, but Roy..." He trailed off. "I fear for what that means."
"Maybe it means he's finally free."
"I hope so." He's afraid to think of the other possibilities. And as much as he hoped Roy had escaped the cycle that has the two of them trapped, he still wanted to see him, just once more.
It is hard. And feel like I should make this a post of its own. What do you think?
Date: 2009-03-01 11:40 pm (UTC)"You know, that might work." Marth smiled down at Link, the Hylian still leaning on his shoulder. "You've learned to use the window?"
"I wouldn't say learned." Link leaned away, tugging Marth first to kneeling, then standing. "It was a strange dream, where I met someone who said he had powers over dreams. He helped me figure it out. I'm still not really sure how it works, but I saw you, and I was able to see Roy for just a moment."
Marth squeezed Link's hand. "Let's try together."
Sorry!
Date: 2009-03-10 08:23 pm (UTC)"There's no need to be so tense, you know."
"Shut up." The Hylian colored just slightly. "I had trouble with it last time. What if it doesn't work now?"
Marth looked thoughtful, recalling what Link had said. "Last time you had a guide, right?"
"Yeah."
Marth squeezed Link's hand, then drew closer. "This time you have me." He leaned in to kiss his lover soundly. "Trust in me, Link."
"I do."
